Workplace Health and Safety (Level 2) - Target Audience

According to the Health and Safety Executive, 1.6 million people suffered from a work-related injury in 2019/20, placing unnecessary pressure on individuals and businesses. In order to reduce this number and protect people from hazards and harm, organisations are required to maintain a high standard of health and safety in the workplace. This can be done in several ways, including implementing safe working practices and ensuring that everyone is trained in, and aware of, the dangers present at work.

This course is a general introduction to workplace health and safety and is suitable for people working in any organisation and at any level who require knowledge of how to maintain good health and safety practices in their workplace.

Our online course has been written to match the IOSH Working Safely syllabus, but is NOT assessed or approved by IOSH, and does not lead to an IOSH certificate. Click here to view our IOSH-approved course.

This course will provide you with knowledge of the health and safety essentials that you need to keep yourself and those around you safe at work. It is taught and assessed online which will minimise any cost and disruption to your business.

Workplace Health and Safely (Level 2) - Course Detail

Overview

The Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 is an important piece of legislation that requires individuals and businesses to maintain safe work practices and take steps to ensure the safety and health of their workforce. This can be done in many ways, such as implementing a safe system of work and providing sufficient staff training, and requires the support of everyone in an organisation to be successful.

This online Workplace Health and Safety course is designed to give candidates an understanding of health and safety and how to keep yourself and others safe in the workplace.

After completing the course candidates will:

  • Have an understanding of the basic principles of occupational health and safety.
  • Be able to define hazard and risk.
  • Understand how to identify common workplace hazards.
  • Know how to improve your organisation’s safety performance.

Duration

It takes approximately 6 hours to complete the course in full. This can be spread out over multiple sessions or completed in a single session. There is no time limit for completion.

Assessment

The modules must be completed in order. Our system saves your progress so you can exit the course at any point and continue where you left off when you return. It will take approximately 6 hours to fully work through all the interactive exercises and complete the final assessment.

This final assessment will take the form of a multiple choice question paper that is completed online.
