Legionellosis is the collective name given to the pneumonia-like illness caused by legionella bacteria. This includes the potentially fatal legionnaires’ disease, as well as the similar but less serious conditions.
Any water system that has the right environmental conditions can become a source of legionella bacteria. Cooling towers, evaporative condensers and whirlpool spas are particularly susceptible but all water systems can pose a risk.
This online course is aimed at legionella duty holders, nominated legionella responsible persons and those with operational responsibility for the management of the services of a building. It meets the training and awareness requirements of relevant legislation and regulations including L8, HSG 274, HTM 04-01, COSHH and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
Meets the requirements of HSE, CHAS, SafeContractor, ConstructionLine, Exor, SMAS and other SSIPs.

This course certificate has no expiry date because there is no formally recognised period of validity for any health and safety training or this type of course. The HSE recommends refresher training is carried out whenever it is felt necessary. Safety registration bodies such as CHAS, SafeContractor, ConstructionLine & SMAS and other members of the SSiP scheme recommend most re-training is done every 3 years. We would recommend refreshing knowledge as and when legislation or guidance changes applicable to these regulations.
All of our courses, systems and services have been registered to the internationally recognised ISO 9001:2015 quality standard. Quality Management Systems Ltd (QMS) made this prestigious award to Commodious in January 2018.
