Infection control training is a critical measure and practice designed to reduce the risk of infection and spread of infection, particularly in workplaces.

This infection control course is a general awareness course designed to satisfy the training and awareness requirements of relevant legislation and regulations.

Infection Prevention Control Training

Course Overview: What is Infection Prevention and Control training?

Our comprehensive Infection Prevention and Control Course provides essential training on the measures and practices designed to significantly reduce the risk of spreading infections in any environment, particularly in workplaces and shared spaces. By completing this course, you will understand what an infection is, why infection prevention is important, and the vital roles both employers and individuals play in maintaining a safe, healthy, and productive environment. This infection prevention control training is critical for safeguarding both employees and vulnerable people.

Why is Infection Prevention Training Important?

The learning outcomes of this infection prevention and control training aim to ensure a safe environment and minimise workplace disruption. By taking steps to control the spread of infectious diseases, your organisation can achieve several key benefits:

  • Protect Vulnerable People: Safeguarding high-risk individuals such as the elderly, pregnant people, or those with underlying health conditions.

  • Maintain Productivity: Reducing staff absences, which helps prevent delays, missed deadlines, and financial losses from the need for temporary cover.

  • Reduce Healthcare Stress: Minimising the strain on healthcare systems by preventing hospitalisations and the over-use of antibiotics.

  • Enhance Quality of Life: Ensuring less people suffer from illness and its complications.

Learning Outcomes: Infection Prevention and Control Certificate

After completing this infection control online course, candidates will be able to:

Candidates will be given instant feedback after completing the assessment stating whether they have passed or failed. The assessment can be re-taken as many times as is required to pass at no additional cost.

  • Defining Infections: Understanding what an infection is and how microorganisms (germs) like bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites cause illness.

  • Control Measures (Types of infection prevention and control): Implementing preventative steps like providing PPE and RPE, ensuring good hygiene facilities, proper cleaning schedules, and adequate ventilation.

  • Hand Washing: Following the correct technique for effective handwashing and hand hygiene, which is one of the best ways to disrupt the chain of infection and prevent the spread of disease.
