Health and Wellbeing Course Online - Overview


Looking after our health, wellbeing and wellness is incredibly important, as it has a significant impact on our lives. However, it can be difficult to do so, especially when we lack the tools or understanding needed to do so.

In this course, we will cover how to look after your health, well-being and wellness, as well as answer several questions including:

  • What is health and wellbeing?
  • Why is good health and wellbeing important?
  • How do I improve my health and wellbeing?

After completing this course, learners will understand:

  • What health, well being and wellness are, and why they are important.
  • The most common threats to physical well-being, and what can be done to tackle them.
  • The signs of poor mental well-being, and how it can be improved.
  • What social well being is, and the steps that an employer should take to manage it at work.


It takes approximately 1 hour to complete the course in full. This can be spread out over multiple sessions or completed in a single session. There is no time limit for completion.


All candidates must complete a multiple choice assessment after working through the training material. The candidate will be asked 12 multiple choice questions and need to answer a minimum of 9 correctly to pass. Candidates will be given instant feedback after completing the assessment stating whether they have passed or failed. The assessment can be retaken as many times as is required to pass at no additional cost.

  • What health, well-being and wellness are, and how they affect us physically, mentally and socially.
  • Why having good health, well-being and wellness is important.
  • The different forms of well-being.

This module covers:

  • The most commonly experienced physical health conditions and issues.
  • How living healthily and regularly partaking in physical activity can help a person to look after their physical wellbeing.
  • Some of the measures an employer and line manager should take to protect the physical wellbeing of their staff.

This module explores:

  • Some common mental health problems.
  • The signs and causes of mental health issues.
  • How a person can manage their own mental health and wellbeing.
  • What an employer can do to help promote positive emotions and mental wellbeing at work.

This module covers:

  • What social well-being is.
  • The main threats to social relationships and wellbeing.
  • Some of the measures an employer can take to promote good social wellbeing and create a productive workplace.

Health, Well-being and Wellness Awareness - Accreditation and Certification

IIRSM Certificate

Successful candidates will receive a IIRSM Certificate and 1 CPD Credit.

This course certificate has no expiry date because there is no formally recognised period of validity for any health and safety training or this type of course. The HSE recommends refresher training is carried out whenever it is felt necessary. Safety registration bodies such as CHAS, SafeContractor, ConstructionLine & SMAS and other members of the SSiP scheme recommend most re-training is done every 3 years. We would recommend refreshing knowledge as and when legislation or guidance changes applicable to these regulations.
