Bullying and Harassment - Target Audience

Nobody deserves to be treated unfairly or be bullied at work. Despite this, many people experience bullying or harassment in the workplace, which can cause them to become stressed and ill, reduce their productivity, and create a difficult working environment.

Alongside this, harassment and bullying can be illegal, with legislation such as the Equality Act 2010 protecting people from experiencing direct or indirect discrimination because of certain characteristics.

Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, so it is essential that everyone in a workplace understands what bullying and harassment are, and what they need to do to prevent themselves and those around them from carrying it out. They should also be aware of what their options are if they are experiencing harassment or bullying at work, both within their organisation and externally.

This anti-bullying training course explores what harassment and bullying are in detail, outlines some of the ways that individuals and organisations can tackle it, and explains how it can be reported. Bullying and Harassment - Course Overview


Everyone has the right to work without experiencing unwanted conduct or being subject to bullying behaviour. As a result, organisations must ensure that their staff fully understand bullying and harassment, and are aware of what they need to do to stop it from occurring in their workplace.

After completing this course, learners will understand:

  • What bullying and harassment are, and their effects.
  • The kind of behaviour that is considered bullying, and who carries it out.
  • Some of the measures that individuals and organisations can take to prevent harassment and bullying.
  • How cases of bullying and harassment can be reported, and how they should be dealt with.

They will also be able to answer the following questions:

  • What is bullying and harassment?
  • What is the difference between bullying and harassment?
  • How do I deal with bullying and harassment in the workplace?


It takes approximately 45 minutes to complete the course in full. This can be spread out over multiple sessions or completed in a single session. There is no time limit for completion.


All candidates must complete a multiple choice assessment after working through the training material. The candidate will be asked 12 multiple choice questions and need to answer a minimum of 9 correctly to pass. Candidates will be given instant feedback after completing the assessment stating whether they have passed or failed. The assessment can be retaken as many times as is required to pass at no additional cost.

This module explores:

  • The main way that an individual can avoid behaving inappropriately at work.
  • The responsibilities an employer has to prevent bullying and harassment in the workplace.

This module explores:

  • How incidents of bullying and harassment should be reported.
  • The steps involved in making a formal bullying complaint, and how a person can get additional support with the process.

Bullying and Harassment - Accreditation and Certification

CPD Certificate

Successful candidates will receive a CPD Certificate and 1 CPD Credit.

This course certificate has no expiry date because there is no formally recognised period of validity for this type of course. The HSE recommends refresher training is carried out whenever it is felt necessary. Safety registration bodies such as CHAS, SafeContractor, ConstructionLine & SMAS and other members of the SSiP scheme recommend that most re-training is done every 3 years. We would recommend refreshing knowledge as and when legislation or guidance changes applicable to these regulations.
