Slips, Trips And Falls Online course

Slips, trips and falls are the most common cause of injury at work and cause approximately 40% of all reported injuries. The cost of slips, trips and falls accidents to UK businesses and the wider economy is estimated to be £800 million per year.

This course meets the training requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1971. It also meets the requirements of CHAS, SafeContractor, Construction line, Exor and other SSIP registrations plus HSE safety training requirements.

Course Structure

The course comprises 1 interactive module and a final assessment. Links to recommended reading and additional resources may be provided within the training modules. These links are not mandatory and will not be tested for in the final assessment.

Duration

It takes approximately 20 minutes to complete the course in full. This can be spread out over multiple sessions or completed in a single session. There is no time limit for completion.

Assessment

All candidates must complete a multiple choice assessment after working through the training material. The candidate will be asked 12 multiple choice questions, randomly chosen from a larger question pool, and need to answer a minimum of 9 correctly to pass. Candidates will be given instant feedback after completing the assessment stating whether they have passed or failed. The assessment can be re-taken as many times as required at no additional cost.

Accreditation and certification

Successful candidates will receive a RoSPA accredited certificate and 0.5 CPD credits

Objectives

This online course will provide delegates with an understanding of the main causes of slips, trips and falls and ways to minimise and control the risks. The course also provides details of the various health and safety laws and regulations that impose a duty on both employees and employers to manage the risks associated with slips, trips and falls.

After completing the course, candidates will:

  • Be aware of the dangers of slips, trips and falls;
  • Have knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework that underpins slips, trips and falls risk management and control;
  • Be aware of the causes, and the measures required to prevent, slips, trips and falls.

 Target Audience

This online course is a general awareness course for employees and employers operating in a low risk working environment such as offices or shops. The course is designed to satisfy the training and awareness requirements of relevant legislation and regulations including the Health and Safety at Work Act 1971.

This course can be use by people working in high risk environments as a general introduction alongside suitable supplementary, hazards specific training.
